Whitefish Golf Club

Whitefish Golf Club is another of the many
fine golfing options in the Brainerd Lakes area of central Minnesota (in the
summer, anyway). It’s not as spectacular
as some of the resort courses in the area, but is in great condition and fun to
play.
I first played Whitefish in the summer of
2009 and was paired with a father and his two sons. It was a little crowded because it was Fourth
of July weekend, but the weather was beautiful and I wasn’t in too much of a
hurry.
The facilities were very nice and had a
charming quality. The greens are fairly
large and flat, and the fairways were wide and inviting as well. That said, I don’t remember scoring
particularly well.
I’d love to blame the conditions, but they
are always perfect in Central Minnesota in the summer time. Perhaps my caddie was giving me poor reads
and yardages…or just sitting in the cart reading a magazine! :-)
