Raven Golf Club at Sandestin

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is one of the
best resorts in the fabulous Florida panhandle.
They have four championship courses on the grounds and have hosted
professional tournaments as well as contributed to the Destin area being a “Top
10 Golf Destination” for decades. I
played the Raven course in 2007.
The course was great. One thing I love is that none of the holes
are on top of one another. You feel very
isolated when on the course. I played
the front nine with a very nice family of four who weren’t the best golfers but
still had a great time. I shot a very
rough 44. Then I hit the back and went
on a par run. I pared the first 8 holes
on the back before THREE-PUTTING the 18th green! How frustrating. Still, I’m not complaining about a 37 on the
back of a championship course. The key
(as it usually is) for me was hitting fairways.
I was 7 of 7 on the back. I also
hit 6 of 9 greens, and the three I did miss were close enough for me to putt so
I was 3 out of 3 on up & downs.
