San Jacinto College Golf Course

San Jacinto College is a local junior college
with campuses throughout the Houston area.
Their main campus is in Pasadena, about 10 minutes from my home, and
they have a 9-hole WALKING ONLY course that anyone can play for $10. Did I mention it’s WALKING ONLY!
Surprisingly, in all the years I’d lived
minutes away, I’d never played here – perhaps because it’s WALKING ONLY. Barry called me one day and asked if I wanted
to head over there for a round one afternoon and in a moment of insanity I
agreed. He had a new toy – some GPS
caddie thingy – that he wanted to try out and I figured I might as well play
San Jac some time. I sprung the extra $2
for a pull cart because, well, it’s WALKING ONLY.

The course isn’t all that nice, but what do
you expect for $10. There’s not much
protection either so wind is an issue.
Oh yea, did I mention that it’s WALKING ONLY!?!
