Europe 2019: Heading To Copenhagen

Europe 2019

Heading To Copenhagen

After hanging around Germany for a week, we headed to the Frankfurt airport for a quick flight to Copenhagen.

Samantha has always been, and continues to be, an excellent traveler. She stays chill and close to us when we have to move and takes advantage of opportunities to be a kid as they present themselves...like this random climbing thing in the baggage claim area in Copenhagen.

There's really no reason to have a car in Copenhagen (and plenty of reasons not to) so we took the train into the city. Samantha loved pretending to drive - they even had fake controls and gauges where she's standing.

Our windows overlooked a really neat square.

We didn't use the kitchen at all. Turns out the food is actually pretty good in Copenhagen.

There were two bedrooms at opposite ends of the apartment. They weren't big, but they did the job.

We didn't have to use the beds in the living room - which meant I could stay up late after all the lame people hit the sack.

The downside was that we were on the 5th floor (penthouse if it makes you feel any better) so every time we went anywhere we had to hike these stairs. Nothing was more depressing than getting outside and realizing you had forgotten something.

All those windows sticking out - that's us!

We rented an apartment that couldn't have been more in the middle of Copenhagen, which was good since we basically had to walk everywhere. It was surprisingly large by Euro standards. It had two bedrooms and even a washer and dryer, which was helpful when you're abroad for three weeks. It was kind of sparse, but nice - very Scandinavian.

The square outside our apartment was nice. It had some neat places to eat, but also served as a great starting point for our expeditions regardless of which direction we were heading.

We grabbed some lunch at an Italian place before exploring. You can't go wrong with Italian in any country really.

Samantha is happy in a book shop anywhere in the world.

Protesters - In this case, the man-hating kind.

We spent the rest of the day exploring some of the sites which I'll cover in later posts.
