Guest House Construction: Part 3

The Mess Begins

Nel and I skipped town for about a week and a half but I was happy to see that some progress was made while we were gone.  Before we left, Bill had marked the perimeter of the structure with four posts.  A guy with a tractor and a box blade came out and scraped all of the grass away on the build site.  Then a few truckloads of dirt were dropped off and the tractor returned to sort of spread and pack in preparation for forms.

We returned to a large square of dirt and removed fence.  The trucks have already started to damage the driveway, but since we are adding additional drive space anyway it shouldn't be an issue to fix.

It's a big footprint, but keep in mind that some of this is an additional six garage spaces.  The day we returned another truck showed up to deliver lumber for the forms.  I thought they might get put in on Saturday but no such luck.  I'm guessing Part 4 of this series will be the forms in place.  Let's hope!
