Europe 2019: Copenhagen Canal Tour

Europe 2019

Copenhagen Canal Tour

We headed out on Saturday morning to explore a little more of Copenhagen. It was a little cloudy in the morning but turned into a beautiful day.

One of our first stops was popping into a little cafe for breakfast. Samantha really liked Euro-breakfast because it was usually some kind of delicious pastry and hot chocolate.

In general, Copenhagen is a pretty good walking city. Most of the tourist things are within walking distance and there are a lot of pedestrian only zones.

There are a few different canal tours from different locations in Copenhagen. We hopped on one for about an hour tour of the harbor area and a few of the canals.

The Little Mermaid is one of the most popular tourist spots in Copenhagen, but it's a bit of a hike from the central part of the city where we were so we decided that seeing it from the water was good enough.

Samantha was initially very excited about our "boat tour".....

....but her excitement faded after about half an hour. She didn't actually go to sleep, but she lost interest.

Our guide - the tour was in English, but she asked if anyone needed her to repeat things in Danish, German, French, etc. I don't know how many languages she spoke, but she was excellent.

After the canal tour we hit up an outdoor cafe for lunch. You may notice hot chocolate being consumed a lot in these pictures. I can report that the Northern European countries really have it down! I don't drink it often, but I ordered it frequently here.

The food in Copenhagen was generally very good, but this wasn't one of my better choices. Maybe a bat (?) or something? I'm not sure.
