Europe 2019: Rosenborg Castle

Europe 2019

Rosenborg Castle

Copenhagen, Denmark

After leaving Christiansborg Palace we headed over to Rosenborg Castle. I'm not sure what the difference is between a palace and a castle. I'm guessing that a castle is fortified while a palace is not. In the case of Rosenborg, that fortification is a wall.

That wall actually surrounds some rather large park areas that the locals seemed to be taking advantage of on this beautiful day. Living in Texas, I forget sometimes that people in congested cities like Copenhagen rely on parks and green spaces to soak in the sun or play with their kids. For us, that place is just our yard.

The inside of Rosenborg is interesting but not spectacular. It's not a very big place and doesn't take a lot of time to tour.

This was another excellent stop for Samantha. The grounds were quite nice and she could run around and play.

She thought the Treasury, or "Treasure Room" (she was really into treasure on this trip for some reason), was cool.

We really enjoyed Rosenborg Castle. It's an easy place to visit. They have a decent gift shop and a little cafe and the entire park surrounding the castle is worth strolling through on it's own.
